ABOUT

Team 4587, Jersey Voltage, is a high school robotics team at Jersey Village High School that competes in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). Our team consists of around 30 students ranging from freshmen to seniors, and we are fortunate to have returning Jersey Voltage members who mentor us each year.

Jersey Voltage has four main goals: to sharpen our engineering skills, to teach the community about robotics, to maintain a competitive team, and to foster a supportive Voltage family.

FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is an organization that inspires young people to become future leaders in the STEM fields. In FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition), students build robots based on a specific theme to complete various tasks, utilizing skills learned in Jersey Voltage, such as computer-aided design (CAD), programming, and construction.

Our team was founded in 2013, when a student at Jersey Village High School recognized the value of having a robotics club to allow students to apply their skills and create fully functioning robots for competition. We aim to inspire future engineers, nurture their skills, and achieve extraordinary things.

Each year, we strive to provide new opportunities for eager students. We help them learn new skills and apply them through collaborative activities which enables them to work better with others and practice the skills they've acquired. When the FRC season begins in January, our team jumps right into action, collaboratively designing, programming, and building the robot for competition!
